Dear KRC Community:
Kern Regional Center (KRC) values your input and feedback and how KRC can work towards meeting the caseload ratios as required by Section 4640.6 (c) of the Welfare and Institutions Code. This section of the Welfare and Institutions code requires that regional centers maintain service coordinator-to-client caseload ratios at or below specified averages. Although, KRC made notable improvement from last year’s caseload ratio, KRC did not meet caseload rations in certain categories noted below.
Per the Department’s notification issued to KRC on June 13, 2023, as specified by W & I Code §4640.6 (f), KRC is required to submit a plan of correction for the caseload ratio categories that were not met for two consecutive reporting periods. KRC will develop a plan following input from the state council, local organizations representing individuals served by KRC, family members, regional center employees, service providers and other interested parties.
The service coordinator caseload survey provided to DDS on March 1, 2023, indicated KRC did not meet the required caseload ratio for individuals enrolled on the Home and Community-Based Services Waiver (reported ratio 1:70, the required ratio is 1:62); for individuals 6 years of age and younger (reported ratio1:60, the required ratio is 1:40); and for individuals over the age of 5 years and Non-Waiver (reported ratio 1:71, the required ratio is 1:66).
